We completed a comprehensive interior reconfiguration project at the Barracks Building, USCG Sector Jacksonville, Atlantic Beach, Florida. This extensive project involved a range of tasks to enhance the functionality and safety of the facility. Key components included:
- Furniture and Equipment Relocation: We managed the relocation of existing furniture and equipment, including bunk beds, nightstands, closets, and more, to facilitate the renovation process. This included photographing and documenting the condition of all items before and after relocation, and storing them in a provided temporary connex box.
- Interior Space Reconfiguration: Our work involved several significant changes to the building’s interior spaces:
- Demolishing the Recreation Storage to create a new Mechanical Room.
- Converting an existing restroom and storage room into a full bathroom and Transient Room.
- Remodeling the Women’s Berthing Room and Bathroom.
- Replacing fixtures, finishes, and appurtenances in multiple bathrooms.
- Updating carpets, PVC baseboards, wall paints, and flooring in various areas.
- Installing transition strips and marble thresholds between different flooring finishes.
- HVAC and Plumbing Upgrades: We undertook major upgrades to the HVAC and plumbing systems, including:
- Installing a Dedicated Outside Air System (DOAS).
- Providing new split air conditioning systems.
- Replacing roof exhaust fans and providing new ductwork.
- Removing abandoned heat pumps, water lines, and ductwork.
- Safety and Compliance: The project also included evaluating and updating fire alarm and public address systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
This project at the Barracks Building not only revitalized the space but also exemplified our expertise in managing complex interior reconfigurations and system upgrades.
