Lunacon successfully completed a Design-Build project for Miami Dade County – a state-of-the-art aquatic facility. This comprehensive project encompassed both demolition and new construction. Key highlights include:
- Demolition and Site Preparation: We undertook the demolition of the existing aquatic center facility and north parking lot, preparing the site for the new construction.
- New Facility Construction: The project featured the construction of a new aquatic facility at the north end of the site, along with a new parking lot. The facility includes several key components:
- Hybrid Pool and Deck: A modern hybrid pool with an accompanying pool deck.
- “U” Shaped Buildings: The north building houses locker rooms, restrooms, pool equipment storage, and aquatic center administration offices. The east building is designed with a large multi-purpose room, reception hall, catering room, small restrooms, and storage. The south building includes concession and admin areas, connected by a breezeway entrance.
- Concession Building: A separate building for concessions enhances the functionality of the facility.
- Architectural Design: The architectural layout is thoughtfully designed to optimize space utilization and provide a cohesive aesthetic.
