Lunacon Construction Group proudly completed the renovation of the Amphitheater Holding Area at Zoo Miami in partnership with Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces — a project designed to enhance animal care, operational efficiency, and the overall guest experience.
Today, the newly transformed space serves as an immersive habitat environment where visitors can experience closer connections with Zoo Miami’s animal ambassadors through thoughtfully designed viewing areas and themed surroundings.

A Space Reimagined for Wildlife and Guests
Located adjacent to the Sami Family Amphitheater, the renovated facility was designed to create a more engaging and flexible environment for both animals and visitors while supporting Zoo Miami’s broader mission of education, conservation, and wildlife awareness.
The updated habitats now provide expanded opportunities for guests to observe a variety of species throughout the day in spaces carefully designed to encourage enrichment, wellness, and safe interaction from a distance.

Lunacon’s Scope of Work
Lunacon’s work included selective demolition, secure site preparation, installation of prefabricated caging systems, upgraded electrical and plumbing systems, reinforced concrete footers, waterproof concrete installation, masonry wall reinforcement, specialty stucco application, protective urethane coating, and galvanized steel systems designed for long-term durability and corrosion resistance.
Every phase of construction was executed with precision and in full coordination with the project team, consultants, and owner representatives to ensure quality, safety, and long-term performance.
