Zoo Miami – Amphitheater Holding Renovations

Lunacon Construction Group proudly completed a comprehensive renovation of the Amphitheater Holding Area at Zoo Miami in partnership with Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces. This transformation turned an aging facility into a safer, more functional, and visually enhanced environment for both animals and staff.

This project exemplifies our commitment to building smart, resilient infrastructure that balances durability, safety, and environmental responsibility.

The scope included selective demolition, secure site preparation, and the precise installation of prefabricated caging systems, gates, drinkers, and concrete footers. We upgraded the facility’s electrical and plumbing systems, installed fiber-reinforced waterproof concrete, and reinforced all masonry walls by fully grouting each cell. The structure was finished with WMMR stucco and a two-part urethane coating for maximum longevity and weather resistance. All structural steel and caging were galvanized to ensure long-term durability and corrosion protection. Every phase of the project was executed with precision, in full compliance with approved plans, and under the supervision of the owner and Architect of Record.
